{tim & laura} a proposal story – central coast engagement photographer

on january 22nd, 2011 by now husband proposed to me on our 6 year anniversary, in big sur, with my friend and photographer capturing every moment. it. was. amazing. i am so grateful to have those images of such a momentous and special occasion to look back on. i have been hoping every since that a friend of mine would get engaged and that i could do the same for them..well, it finally happened!

these are our dear friends Tim & Laura. i worked with Tim at Alliance Board Company a few years back, and after a bit of time, we became great friends.he and trevor bonded over video games and beer, and from that moment on, i knew Tim would be in our lives forever. then…he met the wonderful Laura.on any given night, you can find the 4 of us hanging out ..probably obsessing over our dogs together..or having spontaneous dance party’s..we love love love these two and are SO happy for them.

oh i guess i should tell you a bit about the proposal?! i had plans to photograph tim and laura’s annual christmas card pictures on Monday, November 28th. tim came to me a few days after planning this and expressed his wish to propose to laura during the shoot. {AH!} i was SO stinkin excited! keeping this from laura was pretttty hard, but i knew it would be worth it in the end. and my goodness was it. this post is not their full shoot, it is right at the end when tim proposed. we wandered around Pismo State Beach taking their christmas pics with the dogs for a bit, and then tim pulled the ring out of his pocket, waved it at us with a super excited smile, and we knew…it was time.

the unsuspecting laura helped us find the perfect spot for their next picture moment…we found this amaaazing tree with just the right amount of light coming from the background….

we took a few shots…then tim pulled out the ring..

it was such a beautiful moment! Trevor and i are so happy we got to capture this for our friends.

her custom ring! these diamonds are all heirloom diamonds from Tim’s side of the family that he made into a custom engagement ring for her. all together now, “awwwww.”
