joseph blake was born on a tuesday morning at 3am surrounded by soft lighting, water, candles, a doola and her assistant, 2 aunties, and 2 very excited sets of grandparents. oh, and me. :) let me start from the beginning.
vance and allie are some very very good friends of ours. basically trevor and vance have known each other since kindergarten – so they’re pretty much besties. and luckily, i kind of love Allie – so it all worked out when they got married. :) when we found out they were having a baby, from the very beginning they both knew that they wanted me to document Blake coming into the world – i have been so.darn.excited. but it’s so hard waiting for these babies to decide when they want to come out! Allie went almost a week past her due date before Blake decided to make his appearance – on October 1st – at 3.am. again, THREE. A.M. i got the call at 11:30pm that Allie’s water had broke – so off i went to their house. :)
Allie seriously had a dream birth. and im pretty sure this lady is not human. i keep telling her she is a freak of nature. for reals. her pain tolerance is something out of this world. it was so unbelievably incredible to be there to witness Blake’s birth and to document such special moments for vance and Allie to re-live forever. :)
so here is Blake’s birth story – oh and mind you, he was a whopping 9.5lbs, and all cuteness. totally worth the wait.
i went back the next morning – after i went home and got some rest :) – and snapped a few photos of their first day with Blake. :)
and these are about 2 weeks after his birth. :)
THE END! but just the beginning of watching this sweet little munchkin grown. i can’t wait! :)
Crying! Crying! Crying! I love this. I say that but it doesn’t begin to touch the surface of how I really feel. I have witnessed two births and had the honor of photographing both of them. Such a blessing. Love you.
This is such a GORGOUS moment in time captured beautifully from you Lindsey! Nothing more beautiful than a natural birth and you caught every sacred detail! Love your work!
